We understand it is important that you receive any prescription medicine the doctor has recommended as quickly as possible. In many cases it can be critical to the success of the treatment that you start taking it immediately. To ensure your experience with free doctor service is as simple and streamlined as possible, we offer to arrange for your prescription to be dispensed and supplied from your preferred local pharmacy. Alternatively, if your prescription is non-urgent and it is more convenient for you, we can organize the dispensing and delivery of your medicine(s) through our accredited pharmacy partner.
We have partnered with Australia Post to offer guaranteed Express Next Day delivery* for $14.95 as standard on all orders. This applies to all consultations that result in the doctor supplying a prescription as we must adhere to the strict legal requirements for the supply of prescriptions and prescription medicines.
This includes when you have the prescription dispensed at your local pharmacy as we need to ensure they receive the hard copy paper prescription within a certain time frame.
If the doctor decides your situation does not require a prescription there will be no delivery fees charged. All parcels will be delivered to the provided address and will require a signature on receipt. It is recommended to provide a work address for delivery if no one is home during business hours. Due to security issues, the parcel cannot be left unattended. Where no one is home to sign for the parcel, a card will be left detailing the nearest Australia Post outlet where the parcel can be collected during normal business hours.
Please note free doctor service is relying on a third party for delivery and these timetables and guidelines are based on reasonable expectations and experiences.
free doctor service will not be liable for any loss or damage (including but not limited to consequential loss) resulting from a failure to deliver in accordance with these timetables.
The doctors we contract are all Australian registered and have been screened to ensure they provide the best in customer service and patient healthcare. They are committed to providing you with the greatest advice possible and just like your regular doctor do not offer refunds on their professional service. However, they are all fully insured in the unlikely event a medico-legal claim needs to be made.
If in the doctor’s opinion you require a physical face to face consultation and your situation is not an emergency listed our “WHEN NOT TO USE”
section of Our Services, they may refund your consultation fee at their individual discretion. Unfortunately, we cannot provide refunds on prescription medicines as the law prohibits their return once they have been dispensed.
This is due to State Health regulations, general medicines and prescriptions including any preparation that is taken orally cannot be returned or refunded.
Once the product has left the pharmacy, the storage conditions of the product cannot be guaranteed and it is possible the product could be tampered with.Refunds, if applicable, will only be made using the online payment gateway to the card originally used for payment. Refunds may take up to five working days to appear on a card statement.
